Profile

Hope Telford, MArch, LEED BD+C
Hope is the owner and designer responsible for Color + Life Creative.

She tries to live life with creativity and fun at its core, making choices deliberately and with heart. She loves laughing and sharing stories (don't get her started), and finds people fascinating. Hope loves working with her hands and head, doing projects of all sorts!

Hope's love of design started at a very young age, using candy wrappers to make artwork for her dollhouses.  She attended William Smith College in Geneva, NY and graduated in 1999 with a BA in Architectural Studies with an Art History major, and a BA in British Literature.  After college Hope headed west and settled in Portland, to focus on community-based, sustainable architecture.

Between 2003 and 2007 Hope was again in school, only this time in Eugene, at the University of Oregon, where she obtained her MA in Architecture.  Immediately after school she traveled to South Africa with her (now) husband, Sebastien, studying community structure and development in the townships of Cape Town.

Still looking to travel and explore, Hope and Sebastien moved to Vancouver, BC, after their return from Cape Town.  Hope got some great experience on civic projects, such as hospitals and a law school.  During this time, she started on a slightly different path, working primarily with interiors.  Although she loves buildings, her passion lies in the spaces within them.

She has spent the last decade trying to beautify spaces, and make them effective, comfortable and welcoming.  Hope has a great eye for color and texture, and a background that was focused on building system coordination, making her the ideal candidate to get started on a project you've had in mind for a long time, or help you finish the one that just won't go away.
